Joey’s Final High School Play

Last night Momo, Joy and Zach watched Joey’s final play as a high school student. Tonight the Ardiles and I watched Joey’s final show as a high school thespian. The play left a great many questions unanswered regarding the plot. Joey may have even been the bad guy, hard to tell. I do know this much, joey did a fantastic job with his character. At one point I decide to take a picture of the Ardiles, I was very surprised to find Debbie doing some sort of hockus pockus, no idea what she is really doing, but it seemed like it should go online.

Seussical the Musical Round Up

Zach, Joey and Keely all did a great job in the musical tonight. It was a great night with tons of friends and family coming to watch them perform. A whole gang from Redeemer Iowa who we have bonded with over the last few years on BEAMM trips came down in support as well. Check out some of the pictures below.

Joy had to take notes for a class and needed something to write on so she used a book of Becks. At least that is the story she is telling. I think really she just loves kids books.

Sussical the Musical

Tonight we will finally get to see the results of hard work by Zach Lutz, Joey Kennedy and Keely McCoy when the curtains open for Seussical The Musical. The event will take place at Spring Hill High School. Laura and I are very excited to attend after seeing the quality of productions they put on last year with Alice and Wonderland. Great job guys!

Tennis Champion!

While you went about your business Saturday morning you may have been unaware that a Tennis championship of micro proportions was being played. On one side of the court was Jacob Vos, plays tennis well, knows the rules and terms, in shape. On the other side of the court was Brian, plays tennis poorly, knows some rules and some terms with British accent, out of shape. In the first set Brian won 6-1. Of course Jacob was required to have two hands on the racket at all time (even serving) but lets not use that as an excuse. All you need to know is I beat him fair and square. Well maybe not fair, but square since I’m sure that is a real qualifier.

In the second game Jacob was freed to play normal and went on to win 6-1. He’s good. When his serves were in I felt like I was hitting a brick trying to return it. The only redeeming aspect of this second set was that I aced him. Meaning I served a ball that he could not even get a racket on. I’ll never be able to accomplish a serve like this again. If you play tennis you have until August 27th to challenge Jacob. If you do come ready, come with a British accent and be prepared to cheat or lose.

Tuesday night February 19th Pam, Ashleigh, Joy, Zach, Beckham, Sadie, Laura and I all headed out to watch April perform at her MPE (Midwest Parent Educators for inquiring minds) Senior Showcase. April and a friend first did a violin duet performing the song Butterfly. Later she played a few songs on Harp. You did a great job April! We are all really proud of you. The video below is of the “Celtic Woman” version of Butterfly. At a later date I’ll put up video of Amazing Grace on harp.

Senior Showcase Tonight!(Tuesday): April Cervinka

Senior Redeemer student and High School senior April Cervinka along with her 2008 home school graduating class is putting on a Senior Showcase tonight. At this event April will be playing a violin duet with a friend, but I’m told this is no ordinary duet. No, this duet will include twirling, Irish skipping, jumping, etc. I’ve heard it is similar to the world famous Celtic Woman fiddler performances. Not familiar with her? Check out the video below. Laura and I (and Joy) are going and would love to be joined by anyone else who is able to come. Also, April will be playing the harp, if you haven’t heard her play yet do so as time is running out. April will be away at Moody Bible Institute as a freshman next fall.

This afternoon Laura, Beckham, Sadie and I attended the Springhill Mavericks vs Wheatridge Mustangs Basketball game down in Gardner. We were there to see 8th grader Connor L. who plays for Spinghill. The Mavericks won the game and by my count Connor had 8 points and 3 assists. Connor played great, he had an amazing shot and an amazing pass that I failed to get on video, hey The Graze Sports Network isn’t exactly ESPN yet. Anyway, enjoy the highlight video above.

On a side note, I sat next to a seventh grader from Wheatridge who text over 200 messages a day to his friends.
