High School Girl’s Museum Day {0}

Jeffie Mussman could not get any cooler.

I know I speak for all the girls who went to the museum with her: We were in awe of her! She is a woman who loves God and it radiates out of her!

Jeffie so graciously invited the high school girls to a tour of the Nelson Atkins Museum. She’s a docent (that means she guides and educates people like us!). It’s not too lofty to say she taught us how to look at art. What is art? What makes it beautiful? Can it be beautiful and you still not like it? She asked us very thought-provoking questions and really made us think about what we were looking at!

Going into this, I was just as excited as these girls to hear Jeffie’s wisdom on art! It really was fascinating!

 The time flew by. We found ourselves wanting so much more! We could have stopped at every one and listened to Jeffie!!

Then we got to go back to her 100 year old house and eat COOKIES!

 Super cute!!

Thank you Jeffie for an incredible day!! (I’m going to try to convince her to do it again in the spring for those of you who couldn’t make it…and for those of you who did make it and just want more!)

GSC Christmas Program 2012: Pics & Videos {0}

GSC 2012 Christmas Program

Everyone who came today did a fantastic job celebrating the birth of Christ with the residents of the Good Samaritan Center this morning. It was a great time. Unfortunately I didn’t take many photos this year since I couldn’t get a good angle on the piano, but I’ll post a few to remember this great event. Also a couple of videos as well. Thank to everyone who came out today. The videos look much better if you switch the quality on them to HD found at bottom of the video.

GSC 2012 Christmas Program

Brookie made a good friendship with Elee. He told us a story about a cat that brought a snake into the GSC and sat on the couch while it ate it. He also gave Beckham a stuffed dinosaur.

Above and below we are caroling around the place led by Shari and Willow.

Thank you Scott & Carmen Creecy for ministering to Laura and I by watching our kids so we could be undistracted this weekend.

Now, If you wish to look at all the pictures check out the In Town Retreat Flickr set, otherwise I’ve chosen a few bunch below to highlight the weekend. Also I made the photos smaller in this post, any of you who read this have an opinion between the giant photos I usually post and these smaller ones?
