Nativity: Born of Flesh {0}
“The Child that was ere worlds begun…
The Child that played with moon and sun
Is playing with a little hay.”
This is from a poem written by G.K. Chesterton that was put in a Christmas Card. It speaks of Christ being at creation. That he was there when the moon was made. The Sun and all the stars were made through him and in an amazing act of humility Jesus was born, taking on flesh, growing in Mary’s womb and being born in that messy way every human is born. He was a baby playing with things that were created through him. What an amazing thought that our savior humbled himself in this manner.
Inside the Christmas Card it read, “May He who flung the moon and the stars in their place and then plunged into our humanity, bewilder us once again, each and all.”

High School Christmas Party Pictures {0}
Tonight was the High School Christmas Party. This year the Prins hosted and did a great job. We did a roving white elephant gift exchange while people chatted, played fuss-ball,and various versions of ping pong. Thank you Jo & Chip for hosting us.
We also played a game with Hawaiian Leis. Everyone received one to start and then every time you heard someone you are talking to say “no” o r “know” they had to give you there lei. Oasis Christmas Worship Service {0}
Christmas at the Oasis
Come join us Christmas afternoon for a time of worship, food, and fellowship with those we minister to at the Oasis. This is our first Christmas celebration at the Oasis and a great opportunity to proclaim who Christ is and celebrate his birth.
Background: The Oasis is a presbytery-wide ministry to immigrants in Kansas City, KS. Primarily, a large group of refugees from Bhutan and Nepal have immigrated to Kansas City. Our churches have been working with the Christians in the community in discipleship areas of Bible study and leadership training with the goal of an eventual church plant in their community. As well, we have a regular ministry with the broader community by providing English classes on Monday evenings, maintaining a clothing distribution room, and helping with some of the basic physical needs of the community.
What: The afternoon will start with a Christmas worship service in both English and Nepali languages. This will be followed by a pot-luck style dinner and then a number of cultural Christmas celebration activities and music into the evening. We will also be distributing Bibles in the Nepali language that we have had donated as well as a winter clothing distribution.
When: 4:30pm Worship Service followed by a time of sharing a meal and other Christmas celebration activities. Events will continue through the evening, you’re welcome to come for whatever part you can make it.
What you can bring: For the meal, please bring a main dish and/or side dish to share. There will be Nepali food as well as whatever we bring to share, also paperware and drinks will be provided. If you would like to bring any winter clothing donations, we are in need of some women’s and children’s sized coats as well as hats or gloves. We have a good amount of donated items already to distribute, but we expect a large number of people to be there and want to provide as many as possible with some winter wear. Many are having their first winter in the US and do not have access to warm clothing.
Where: The address is located 721 North 31st Street, Kansas City, KS (31st & Minnesota intersection) in the Mercy & Truth Ministries building. This is the former seminary campus for Central Baptist Seminary.

Who: 9th – 12th Grade
What are we doing: We’ll eat snacks and dessert as we do the white elephant gift exchange, hangout and play a Hawaiian Lei game.
