Pastor Nathan’s Introduction to Biblical Counseling class is beginning again. I took it last fall and the follow up class in the Spring (Marriage & Family Counseling).

Over the years I’ve learned that everyone is a counselor in some capacity. If your friends or family or anyone at all comes to you and ask for advice about anything your response is counsel.

So whether you want to counsel in an official capacity or just do a better job with the people God brings in your life to minister to I highly recommend taking this class.

Counseling training will begin on Monday night, Sept. 13th, 6:00-9:00 p.m. for 3 months. Pastor Nathan Currey will be offering Introduction to Biblical Counseling for credit (toward NANC Certification) and for audit (for anyone who wants training in using God’s Word to help others). Everyone is welcome to attend these classes, just fill out a registration form online at the church website.

In a much more closely fought battle this year the old guys defeated the young guys 4 to 3. Scoring for RPC United was Mr. B twice, Mark “El Presidente” Dunn once and one for Tony “The Sicilian” Felich. Scoring for the Chargers were David Tompkins and Chris Earnshaw twice. Guys played great and I’m looking forward to watching them play this season.

Last year the 6-1 victory RPC United had over WCA was ugly, the plaid shorts Mr. Preston wore were even uglier. This year HCA has more fire power, a real ref and fitness that should be able to bury the old men. Come see the battle of Older Wiser vs Younger Fitter at 4:30 on the HCA East (Redeemer) campus.

If you signed up for World’s of Fun and we bought you a ticket plan to be at the McDonalds parking lot located at 110 st (just south of 435) and Metcalf. I blame Jon Dunning for this odd choice of location, there I threw him under the bus. Below is what the McDonalds looks like, very strange. Anyway, be there at 9 a.m. and bring payment if you have not already paid.

This Wednesday will be the first Breakaway and first Iota of the year.

From 6:30 to 8:00 Wednesday evening, meet in the East Campus gym. Students in 2nd grade through 6th grade are invited.

From 6:30 to 8:00 Wednesday evening, go to the basement of the white building (south building) at the back of the Redeemer/HCA East campus. Students 7th grade though 12th grade are invited.

To kick off this first year of HCA Pastor Tony has ordered these shirts to be given out at Chapel. Very cool.

You’ll have to wait for the first chapel to learn what this cryptic message means.
