RiverRanch- the last day: arrival time update
07.17
The bus is here and we are going to head out early. We should be home, God-willing, around 2:00. We will keep the Redeemer Church Office updated with our eta: 913-685-2322.
No pictures today, I was uploading them when the bus arrived, but I promise to upload them and get them up tonight! I have some great ones of everyone, including a crazy night of Karaoke, which makes for GREAT pictures! Please pray for safety for our travel home today.

Here’s everyone getting ready to head out! Sam is ready to catch turtles.
This is Sophie pulling Travis!
You would think this was all posed, but it’s totally real! I actually was trying to get the picture of Ubuntu dragging the three of them, but by the time I got the camera out and ready this was the photo I got!
Thursday Morning Update
07.16
Laura has been keeping pictures coming for you each day. Today is when we assure your children will be coming home tired as we take the 8 mile canoe trip (some of the younger students will be doing a 5 miles raft instead). Ross’ teaching has been great and students have been having a great time. We’ve caught 33 turtles (1 away from last year’s record for those who are counting). It is also 33 more turtles than Bob Reymond said was possible to catch with bare hands. We’ve seen Sam and Joy and Mr. Parris become addicted to wiffleball. One team is called Ubuntu, they hit a great deal of homeruns. The other team is called Nobuntews, they will not accept free bases including walks or hit bats men. They also hold a strict policy of no bunting. Players who break that rule are promptly traded away. Matt Austin posted an amazing 243.00 ERA and Travis and I have begun discussions on what our wiffleball stadium should look like.
There is a beautiful sense of God’s creation here that we miss in the suburbs. Looking out of our meeting room windows is the river that is overlooked by a cliff covered in trees. Tuesday while turtle hunting with Sam, Joey and Cameron I had a great pair of goggles on and after swimming down deep under a boulder I came face to face with two giant fish. Not bass, not sure what they were, but they were huge. I was looking them in face and they were looking me in the face. I just kept looking at them as they didn’t move, but seemed as shocked to see me as I was to see them. Eventually I reached out to catch them and the moment passed. How nice it is to get away in the beautiful creation of our God.
