Currey’s in Bulgaria ^{0}

Today Pastor Nathan taught 15 pastors for half the day and says it went very well. He commented that having a translator actually gives you a little more time to think of what you’re going to say as long as you don’t get distracted. Janey went out with Susan and Valya (a Roma pastors’s wife) and to a basketball game that Zack and Cameron played in They won 40-38! These guys don’t usually get to play since their school is small, so this was a treat for them. They have enjoyed some really good Bulgarian food and are excited about the upcoming days. Each of the next 3 days will be full 8 hour teaching for Pastor Nathan. Janey will be doing an evangelistic Bible lesson with 40-50 women tommorrow night. Please pray for Nathan’s teaching over the next few days and for Janey’s Bible lesson on Tuesday night.

Good Samaritan Center ^{1}

Each Wednesday the WCA Freshmen take part in Community Service. Some weeks it is at St. Joe’s school for the deaf and other weeks it is the Good Samaritan Center in Olathe. The photo above is from the time spent there this week where the students played worship music for the residents. Most weeks are spent attending chapel with residents and talking one on one with the residents. Students are learning about an era that seems very long ago and the residents are loving the time spent in conversation. Some weeks we are even lucky enough to have Pastor Nathan preach at the Chapel service, he is the most interesting and challenging of the many we hear there. Breakaway Pics from February 11th ^{0}

Wednesday at Breakaway we started off the night with a game of Besties. Four sets of self proclaimed best friends were asked to answer the questions, What is your middle name and do you like it? and What is your favorite article of clothing? Their partner then had to match their answer. After this we prayed, sang a song of worship and then divided into small groups for Bible Study. Before the night ended the younger students played swatter and the older students played team Mario Kart. More photos after the link.

Breakaway Tonight ^{0}

Tonight at Breakaway we will be continuing our collecting of Beanie Babies for Woody’s Round Up. If you have any you don’t wish to keep please bring them and fill the blue bucket in the hallway up. Elementary students will be playing the world’s greatest game in the gym, Soccer. High School and Junior High by popular demand will be playing Slaughter Ball in youth room so wear something to protect your knees for this wild game. Please bring your Bible’s as younger continue their study on the relationship between God and Man and the older students continue their study on Spiritual mindedness.

My Youth Pastor ^{0}

When I was a sophomore in High School God did an amazing work in my heart when as the Westminster Shorter Catechism question 29 says I was made a partaker of the redemption purchased by Christ, by the effectual application of it to us by his Holy Spirit. That is God opened my eyes to see Him and to love Him. Before this time I was attending youth group at Northwest Bible Church in Spring, TX. There the youth pastor was Todd Burnett, the guy on left above. I remember after talking to Todd about my new found faith in Christ and he told me I needed to begin reading and studying the Word of God, the Bible. We sat in his office and he asked what book I wanted to study. I had no idea what any of the books were about so I flipped through and choose Ecclesiastes. “Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity” begins the book. I expect he knew I choose and odd book and yet this is what we studied and I loved it. (Click on link to read the rest of Todd and that other guy up there).

Vusich Boys Are Famous… ^{0}

Turns our the Vusich boys have become famous. They’ve been wrestling with Olathe Christian School in their first year wrestling program. Not the kind with Hulk Hogan and Sting, but real wrestling. Look in the background for all the boys and for Joseph in the blue shirt at the 52 second mark wrestling the coach. Congratulations boys on your hard work and success this year. May God be glorified in all you do.
