What is the Diet of Worms and why should we care? If you answered, “A gross way to lose weight” and “Nobody does”, you need to come to Reformation Celebration this Friday night!! Tuesday WCA Eagles played three games of soccer volleyball vs the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer (the only professional team in this town that has a chance of making the playoffs). The boys soccer team, girls volleyball team and a mix of volleyball coaches, soccer coaches and principals. Our adult team featuring amazing play by Mrs. Sievert and Mr. Jarvis beat the Wizards in third game of the series. Just to be clear we could use our hands and they could only use feet and heads. That fact however did not stop me from spiking a ball on Davy Arnaud’s. It was great to have the Davy Arnaud, Chance Myers, Aaron Hohlbein, and Kevin Souter come out for this event. Last night we met in the Youth Room to play some games and fellowship with one another. We played 4 player Mario Kart, Apples to Apples and Birdman. Birdman is a game that has each player putting a piece of paper with a person, a place and a thing in a bowl. People are then divided into two teams and each team has to figure out the terms in a series of rounds. The first round they can say anything except the word on the sheet, the second round they can say only one word and it cannot be the one on the piece of paper, the third round they cannot say anything so they must act it out. It makes for some funny moments and unfortunately we did not get the camera out until the end of the evening so our pictures are limited. Fun time of fellowship though, thanks to all who came and please sing Happy Birthday to Sam Basham every time you see him Sunday. Follow link for more photos.
We’ll be playing all sorts of games, including group games on the Wii while enjoying snacks and fellowship with one another.
