Borders Bark Reports on MoMo (Mallory Creecy)

Each month Borders Books puts out a local newsletter about things going on in the world of Borders, this past month our very own Momo was featured in a segment they call “Introducing.” The idea is she is interviewed and the interviewer gives the highlights. If you did not know before, Mallory spends her mornings and afternoons making Seattle’s Best coffee, just for kicks I suggest you go in and order a drink that only Starbucks serves.  Now, enjoy Introducing…Mallory Creecy

You may have seen Mallory’s name around recently, as she has been DOMINATING the Borers Rewards WTD scores. Two weeks in the Top 5 for the store, shows that this barista has a flair for success! Mallory has been with Borders for just shy of one year, and is already a Certified SBC Trainer. She “doesn’t do weekends”, but you’ll often find her whipping cream & steaming milk on most weekday mornings.

Outside of the cafe’, Mallory is an avid photographer on the lookout for a Kodak capture of the elusive Yeti. Otherwise known as Bigfoot, this sasquatch holds a special place in Mallory’s heart. Her goal is to sell a picture to National Geographic, and soon after start painting red bigfoots on the rail cars and abandoned factories. Once she has created 1,000 red yetis, she hopes to attend Nursing School. Her specialty will be pediatric Yeti Care.

In the mean time, Mallory lives peacefully with her family while collecting various forms of seals (the animal, not the wax stuff on royal envelopes). She reads historical fiction, lies to her mother about eating leftover veggies, has a tendency to overheat her dog, hates hamsters, and looks forward to making you your next specialty latte.

Do Something Awesome! Next Friday Night

Once a month I get together with the other Kansas City area PCA youth pastors to work on Presbytery Camp, share thoughts, and pray for each other. As we’ve been thinking about how all our students will be spending a week with each other this summer at RiverRanch ‘08 (June 23rd -27th) we thought it would be a good idea to get everyone together for a time of fellowship, games, snacks and learning about our wider covenant community. We are going to do just that on Friday, April 4th 2008 at New Hope PCA in Olathe (Northwest Corner of 135th and Blackbob).

We plan to get together as a group on a quarterly basis for a variety of events. We are referring to these times as, “Something Awesome!Students 6th grade through 12th grade are invited, be sure to invite friends who may be interested in RiverRanch as well or anyone else.

Plan to do Something Awesome next Friday from 8-10 p.m.

Pancake Eating Contest

Not only will there be all the pancakes you can eat this Saturday morning in the Commons at Redeemer/WCA but there will also be a pancake eating contest between a few of our youth. To get you pumped for the contest I thought I might show this hotdog eating contest. My expectations are that Connor Lutz will take our title with Harriet coming in a far 3rd place.

Best line is this video is when the commentator says, if joey chesnutt can do this it will be the greatest event in American sports history.
