Happy Birthday George {0}

George Washington was born on February 22nd 1732. Today we celebrate his birthday. Yes, you are right today is February 18th. Next year it will be the 16th of February due to the celebration of his birthday being marked by the third Monday of February each year. Some now refer to this day as Presidents’ Day, however these people have no clue what they are talking about. At no point has the holiday officially been changed to either be called Presidents’ Day or to celebrate each of the other Presidents.

With Washington as my example I would like you all to know that my Birthday will be celebrated on May 19th this year rather than the usual 20th of May. In fact I will be celebrating all my birthdays from this point on the 3rd Monday in May. You may consider doing the same, have a great Presidents’…I mean Washington’s Birthday (non birthday) Day.

TONIGHT! Saturday Night: Hangout at the Reymonds {2}

Tonight! Saturday, February 16th 2008 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. is the Junior High Hangout Night at the Reymonds Home. All students (WCA, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, etc.) 6th grade through 8th grade are invited for a night of games, snacks and fellowship. Invite your friends and mark your calendars for this time. Laura and I are looking forward to this time of fellowship with all who can attend. I promise there will be more room at the Reymond’s than in the “house” pictured above. For directions follow the link above. I hear there will be hot dogs and other snacks there.

High School Sunday School: Ecclesiastes 9 & 10 {1}

Jacob had pink eye two weeks ago (note: Jacob did not actually have pink eye). I had Strep this past week (note: I actually did have Strep). None of that information is important, but this info is, you need to read Chapters 9 & 10 for Sunday School this week. Not the most upbeat of themes as you will see that death comes to everyone. To better illustrate this I placed a pie chart below with black representing those who will die. We’ll look at this all in more detail Sunday, in the mean time find your Bible, or find someone else’s Bible or go here and read Ecclesiastes 9 & 10.

Happy Birthday Madie! {1}

Today is Madie Kaster’s Birthday, don’t forget to sing to her if you see her. Here she is with Harriet on her right and Ashton on her left. If you know of someone’s birthday coming up let me know so we can let everyone know to sing to them.
